When I first started my wedding blog back in June 2010, I was the sweet young age of 24. And I had no idea how well it would take off, and that I would still - nearly three years after getting married - be writing it.
My aim was to share with everyone the ins and outs of organising a wedding; sometimes give advice; sometimes vent frustration; always express excitement. But, this wedding world is not to be underestimated. Brides (and grooms) the world over are planning weddings every day of the year, and most of the topics I discussed don't outdate - how to choose a venue, creating your own wedding stationery, and of course, picking the all important dress. Over the years trends do change and I can imagine my children looking at pictures of our big day thinking "What on earth is mum wearing?". While I hope they don't say that (as it would break my heart!), I think we did our best in having as timeless a wedding as possible. And that's probably why the blog is still going strong - having had as many hits since my wedding day in 2012 as it did before! What's more, I still love talking, planning and - best of all - attending weddings, so you can expect more wedding blogs from me in the future. Here's my latest post about choosing a videographer. I hope you enjoy! And wedding professionals, magazines and websites out there - I am more than happy to contribute editorially in any way you want. After all, after five years of writing about weddings, this is an industry I know very well now! See for yourself: Diary of a Bride To Be |
